At her residence, five miles Southwest of Fulton, on July 3rd, 1880, Mrs. Amelia Davis, aged 78 years.
She was confined to her room about four weeks and had been in delicate health for more than a year. Mrs. Davis was one of the early pioneers, having settled in this county with her husband G.W. Davis, in the fall of 1825. They were from Fleming county, Kentucky. For fifty-five years Mrs. Davis resided on the farm on which she died. She was a good neighbor, ever ready to respond to the wants of the sick or distressed, and her loss will be felt by a large circle of relatives and friends.
She has six sons and one daughter living. Frank Davis and G.P. Davis reside in Denton county Texas. C.A., Elias, W.H. Davis and R.T. Davis and Mrs. M.E. Turner, reside in this county.
