- Death of John A. Craighead
Died, at his home in Carrington, suddenly, Friday night, June 21, 1901, John A. Craighead, aged 61 years. Mr Craighead was a well-known citizen and had been engaged in business in Carrington for many years, until a few months since, when his health failed and he retired. We have known the deceased for many years an always found him a gentleman and good business man. His sudden death will be regretted by his many friends. He leaves a wife, three sons and one daughter to mourn the loss of a devoted husband and indulgent father. His burial will take place this Monday morning at Auxvasse, under the control of the Masonic fraternity, of which he was a prominent member

Notes |
- In 1860 he was living with I.O. Craghead family, working as a teacher. He is listed as born in Ohio on all census forms.
It is believed that generations back, this Craghead family was linked to my Craghead family. His ancestor 1st in America was a Rev. Alexander Craghead who first settled in Virginia, then Pennsylvania. See Cra(i)gheads in Missouri book. He is believed to be a cousin of my Craghead family.
The fact that he was living with my Cragheads in 1860 strengthens the possibility that they were related.
