On Sunday, March 7, 1875, Mrs. Sarah F. Baker, wife of Dr. Robert N. Baker, died at his residence in this county, She leaves a stricken husband and an infant child. She was a devoted wife and all sympathize with the bereaved one in this sad hour of their calamity. After an appropriate sermon, preached by the Rev. W.W. Robertson, at the Richland Baptist Church, of which she was a member, her remains were interred at the cemetery at that Church. Mrs. Baker was a daughter of Mr. J.F. Overton, of this county. Thus in the short space of about one month, two deaths have occurred in that family - Mrs. Baker having died January 28. Truly in the midst of life we are in death.
Note: The Mrs. Baker who died in January was Sarah Overton Baker's mother, it should have read Mrs. James Overton, not Mrs. Baker.

In Memoriam. Both the Richland church and the family of the deceased have been deeply afflicted in the death of Mrs. Harriet Blackwell Overton, wife of James L. Overton, and Mrs. Dr. R.N. Baker, formerly Sarah Fannie Overton. Mrs. James Overton was born on the 16th of May, 1809 and died on the 28th of January 1875 - Scarcely, however, had the grave been closed over her form when the iron hand of death fastened it's grasp on her daughter, the young and affectionate wife of Dr. Baker - she was married to Dr. Baker in Oct. 1873 and died on the 7th of March, 1875.
