Notes |
- John F. Stringer Miss Maggie E. Day 3 May 1887 F125
Pat McAlister notes:
Aunt Mag married John Franklin (Dick) Stringer-04 May 1887-buried in Mt.Carmel Cemetery. When her husband, Dick, died Mama said that a woman in Oregon claimed the body, said she was his wife and had 2 children, making Uncle Dick a bigamist. Aunt Mag supposedly never knew she was not legally married. I have an old vase of hers. Aunt Mag had lived south of Fulton @ Rt. 6 for 32 years when she died. On the 1920 census she was living in Auxvasse with S.P. Day and her niece, Abbie Day. Abbie Day gave info for the death certificate which said that Mag's mother was born in Ohio. S.P.'s said she was born in Scotland.
