  	Mrs. Eliza Houf Dead. Mrs. Eliza Houf, 84 years old, widow of Jacob Houf, died Tuesday afternoon at the home of her son, Dr. J.B. Houf, six miles north of Fulton. Pneumonia, which was contracted three days before her death, was the immediate cause of death, though she was stricken with paralysis about two years ago and never recovered from it's effects. Funeral services were conducted at Richland Baptist church, of which she had been a member many years, Wednesday afternoon, by Rev. W.H. Burnham, of Fulton, and burial was in the church cemetery. Mrs. Houf's maiden name was Stults. She was born in Albermarle county Virginia, on August 26, 1823, and with her parents emigrated to Callaway county when she was twelve years old. She was married to Jacob Houf, also of Virginia, in 1847, and they resided together in this county until his death in September, 1908. Seven children were born to them, of whom six are living as follows: Henry S., John W., James B., Jacob O., Mrs. J.T. Fisher and Mrs. T.D. Smith, all residents of Callaway county. Mrs. Hoof was one of the county's sainted women. Her long life touched many generations and gave her opportunities for useful service in many directions. Many came in contact with her, and it is not too much to say that all were better for it. The Gazette extends sympathy to those who are bereaved by her departure from the world of the living.
