    • Death Near Pitcher
      Mrs. M.E. Carrington, 49 years old, died last Sunday, March 18, 1906, at her home near Pitcher, south of Fulton and burial took place at the Newsom graveyard, Monday afternoon, after services by Rev, M.A. Hart, of this city. her death is attributed to pneumonia and nervous prostration, the latter ailment being occasioned by the death of her son, Clarence Carrington, who was buried a week previous to her own death.
      Mrs, Carrington was a worthy woman in every respect, and was a daughter of Mr. and Mrs. David Newsom, of Dixie neighborhood, who survive her, as do three sisters, Mrs. Noah Cotrill of Hatton, Mrs. Miranda Brown, of Anthony, Fla., and Mrs. Luther Ebersole, of Tebbetts; also a brother, Hubert Newsom of this county. Her husband, J.T. Carrington preceeded her to the grave some years ago. The bereaved relatives are deeply sympathized with.

      Interesting note: Her obituary does not mention her three daughters. It does mention her husband but says he preceded her to the grave. He did not, His obituary does not mention his wife at all, but does mention the children. In 1900 John Carrington was a patient in the Fulton State Hospital. I have to wonder if they were divorced.
