At his residence, near this city, on February 17, 1879, Joseph Fisher, Sen., in his 77th year.
Mr. Fisher was one of our oldest and most respected citizens, having resided on the farm on which he died for over fifty years. He has been a consistent member of the M.E. Church for 60 years.

Death of an Old Citizen - Died at his residence near this place on Monday, February 17, 189, Mr. Joseph Fisher. He was born in Rockingham county Va., in 1802 -- came to this state in 1825 -- On November 26, 1827, he was married to Miss Mary Craghead. He leaves seven children to mourn his loss, names as follows: Mrs. Susan Savage, Mrs. Andrew Jolly, Mrs. B.M. Renoe, Mrs. Samuel Price, Charles O., Thomas W., and Joseph Fisher of Marshal, Mo., is the only one of the family but what resides in this county. His funeral was preached at Mt. Carmel, -- after which his remains were deposited in the cemetery of that church by the side of his beloved wife, who died April 12, 1878.

Notes	They gave the land for a cemetery and for the Mt. Carmel Methodist church in Callaway Co., Missouri. Two children, James and Richard, were in the Cra(i)ghead book with no dates or information. Since this family had 12 children and I have only found info for 10, they must have died young without ever being listed on a census. The book also had Fannie and Catherine F. as two different daughters, with no info about Catherine. They were the same person.
