    Thomas Wright, died Feb. 26, 1900 aged 86. Mary J. Wright, wife of Thomas Wright, died Jan. 24, 1880 very hard to read. Thomas Wright was born Jan. 2, 1814 in Orange Co., Virginia. On May 14, 1846 in Callaway Co., Missouri, he married Mary Jane Houchins, born abt. 1825 in Virginia. She was a daughter of James Overton Houchins and Elizabeth Sarah…

    • death date is from Simcoe files, however, she was listed on the 1880 census. Census was started in June of 1880.
      Headstone is very hard to read but appears to be 1888 for death year. I'm just not certain what year it really was so am using the Simcoe files date.

      Mary Jane Houchins was the first person buried at Ebenezer Baptist Church. Her husband donated the land for the church.
