    • Robert Carter Dead.
      Robert Carter Sr., a brother of John G. Carter, of this city, died at the Fulton Hospital for Insane Wednesday afternoon in the seventy-third year of his life. Mr. Carter was born in Kentucky, but came to Missouri when a boy. He lived with his parents near McCredie and at a later time lived at Williamsburg. A number of years ago he was paralyzed as a reult of a fall from a barn loft. He went to California in 1850 as a gold-seeker. The body was taken to Mexico Thursday for burial.

They are listed with John Smyth in the 12th Dist, Callaway Co., MO with Robert (24), James (20), Martha (19), Elisa (14), William (12) & Sarah (9). The children are all listed as Beavers.John Smith is either Mary's older brother or some other relative. Robert, James, Martha are Robert & Mary Carter's children. Their ages match later records. Elisa, William & Sarah being born after 1833 are Mary & Barnett Beavers' children. John, Alexander, Mary Ann are already married and a father at this time.

      Don't know the exact year of birth, his age is different on several census, and in his obituary it says he was 73 in 1903, but I don't think that's right at all.
