      Goochland County, Virginia 444-445 (1732) This Indenture made this 19th day of March in the year of our Lord God one thousand seven hundred & thirty two Between William Maxey of Goochland County & Mary his wife on the one part & Peter Dep of the said County on the other part Witnesseth that whereas the said William Maxey & Mary his wife for & in Consideration of the sum of five shillings Currant money of Virginia to them or one of them at & before the ensealing & delivery of these presents (the said Dep) in hand paid the recit whereof the sd William Maxey & Mary do acknowledge have bargained & sold & _______ presents bargain & sell unto the said Peter Dep his Executors & Administrators & Assigns one tract or parcil of land containing one hundred acers of land more or less sittuated & being on the South side of James River in Goochland County & bounded as follooth Beginning at a Red Oak joyning upon Edward Maxey & Nath.l Maxeys to a Corner Hickory joyning upon the said Edward Maxey so to a Corner Ash joyining upon William Maxey then to a Spanish Oak joyning upon the said Wm Maxey & Nathl Maxey to the place began at To have and to hold the said land & premisses with the appertanances unto the said Peter Dep his Executors Adm & Assigns from the day set before this date hereof unto the end & term of one whole year from thence next en__ing to the intent that by virtue thereof & of the statute for transferring ____ into ___ possession that the said Dep may be in the actual possession of the sd land be enable to take & accept of a Grant & Release of the revarsion & inheritance of the said land & premisses to him & his heirs & assigns for ever In Witness whereof __ said William Maxey & Mary his wife have hereunto set their hands & affixed their seals the day & year above written.

      "This Indenture made this 20th day of November _____ 1733 Between William Maxey of Goochland County of the one part and John Maxey of the same County of the other part Witnesseth that the said William Maxey for and in Consideration of the sum of five pounds Currant money ___ Virginia to him the said William Maxey in hand paid by the said John Maxey before the Sealing & delivery of these presents the recept whereof the said William Maxey doth hereby acknowledge and therefor Joh_______ and discharge the said John Maxey his heirs Executors and Administrators and every of them by these presents hath granted bargained and sold unto the said John Maxey one devidend or parcell of land situtate lying and being in the foresaid County on the South side James River and the South side ____ Creek and bounded as followeth Begining where the line of the land which Edward Maxey gave to John Maxey & William Maxey croses Poutions Branch thence up the Branch to Thomas Lantons land thence on Lantons line to a corner Scrub Oak thence on the same line to a corner Maple belonging to the said Lanton Nathaniel Basot and Edward Maxey standing on a Branch there down the lines of the land given by Edward Maxey as aforesaid to the place begin at and to contain one hundred acres of land be the same more or less within the County aforesaid together with all the houses fences woods water and water courses and all other the premises thereupon or thereunto belonging or in any wise appurtaining To have and to holde the said land and premises with the appurtainances and every part and parcell thereof to him the said John Maxey and his heires and assignes forever and further the said William Maxey doth grant and agree to and with the said John Maxey his heirs ____ that at the Sealing and delivery of those presents he stands seized and hath perfect Estate in fee simple of the land herein mentioned and that he for ever quit ____ to the said land and premises with the appurtainances to him the said John Maxey and that he will forever hereafter warrnt and ____end the said land and premises from himself his heirs Executors & Administrators unto him the said John Maxey and his heirs and assignes for ever In Witness whereof he the said William Maxey has hereunto set his hand and fixed his sele the day and year above written

      "Memorandum that on this the 17th day of November 1733 peacably and quiet possession and seizing of the land in the deed mention was delivered unto the within named John Maxey to him and his heirs foever by the above mention William Maxey the date above written.

      William Maxey will in Cumberland County dated 27 May 1768 proved 22 August 1768.

      In the name of God amen I William Maxey of Southam Parish and County of Cumberland being in perfect sense and memory but knowing the uncertainty of this life do mae this my last will and testament in manner and form following. First I give my soul to Jesus Chris my redemer and my body to the earth to be buried at the direction of my executors whim I shall hereafter mention and also what worldly estate God has been pleased to please me with
