    • Eddie E. Nichols, 76, of Englewood died Thursday, Nov. 27, 2003, at his home.

      Services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 30, at Robinson Funeral Home in Ashland. Burial will be in New Salem Cemetery in Ashland. Visitation will be from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

      Mr. Nichols was born July 6, 1927, in Harrisburg to Amos Bennett Nichols and Minnie Maude Shelton Nichols.

      He married Norma Lee Clatterbuck on May 7, 1949, in Columbia and she preceded him in death on Nov. 29, 2001.

      Mr. Nichols was a lifelong farmer in the Englewood area. He was a member of New Salem Baptist Church in Ashland. He had worked for Dorn-Cloney Cleaners, Central Dairy and Pepsi-Cola Co. while farming full time. He also hauled water and raised cattle.

      Survivors include a son, Alan Nichols of Englewood; a brother, Ernest "Pug" Nichols of Columbia; and two grandsons.

      He was preceded in death by six brothers and one sister.
