    • About her parents, from the History of Callaway County Missouri, 1884, page 655-656
      MILTON FINDLEY, farmer, was born in Garrard county, Kentucky, March 20, 1809. His father and mother, Mr. John and Mrs. Margaret Brown Findley, were also born in the same state. Milton grew to manhood in the county, and then removed to Nelson county, where on February 27, 1832, he married Miss Barthena, daughter of Mr. Stephen Brown.

      After his marriage he removed to Missouri, and located in that part of Montgomery county now embraced in Warren county, where he resided until 1855, when he removed to Callaway county and bought the land and improved the farm where he now lives. Mrs. Findley died in Warren county, in May, 1845, leaving three children, viz.: Serena, wife of Robert Craighead, of Callaway county, and Sophronia A., widow of the late George E. Thomas. The eldest, Napoleon B., died single, in August, 1880, at the age of forty-one.

      In December, 1846, Mr. Findley married Miss Mary S. Pearl, daughter of Mr. Samuel Pearl, of Warren county, and who was born and reared in Warren. By this marriage he had five children, namely: Madeline L., wife of Mr. Sandy Bush; Margaret E.; Emily, wife of Mr. William McIntosh; Virginia S. J. and Milton, Jr. Three children died in infancy. Mr. Findley possesses a handsome farm of 400 acres, 200 acres of which are under cultivation, with a good two-story frame residence, a good barn and a fair orchard. Mr. Findley is a member of the M. E. Church South. Mr. F. is a member of Fulton Lodge A. F. and A. M

      Died, July 5, at his home 3 1/2 miles south of Fulton of the St. Aubert road, Milton Findley, aged 86 years. His wife, who is advanced in years survies him. He also leaves five daughter: Mrs. M.S. Craghead, Mrs. S.A. Thomas, Mrs. Bush, two single daughters and a son. He was for many years one of the thrifty farmers of his section.

      Her parents were Milton Findley and Mary Pearl of Kentucky. Tandy Bush of Fulton, Missouri, gave the information for her death certificate.
