    • From the book, A History of Callaway County Missouri, 1884; which is not always accurate:
      Henry Cave, Jr., the father of Justinian, was born in Scott county, Kentucky, on the 4th of June, 1800, and was therefore sixteen years of age when the family moved to Missouri. After he grew up, he was married to Miss Frances Craig, who was born in Scott county, Kentucky in March, 1805. They were married in Boone county in 1827, and subsequently moved to Callaway county. Of their family of eleven children, six are still living. Justinian, the subject of this sketch; Marcellus, a leading attorney of clay county; Margaret, Harriet, wife of John R. Boyd, of Audrain county; Helen, wife of William Duncan, of Gallatin county, Montana, and Martha, wife of John V. Craig, of Jasper county. Tose deceased are Henry T., Catherine A., Permelia and Louisa. The father died January 23, 1858. The mother died ten years before, October 11, 1848. The father was a farmer by occupation, and left a good farm of 240 acres.

      # Note: Son of Henry Cave Sr. of Scott Co., Ky to Boone Co., Mo. 1816 who died 1847. Henry Cave Jr. lived Cote Sans Descein Twsp, died age 57 yr 7 mo 19 day farmer. Final settlement of estate Court 3rd Monday Aug. 1862. $2,500 real estate for heirs Justain (Justinian) Cave Executor.....Cave graveyard near line between Sec 1 and 2; T45N R10W 2 miles S. of Dixie, Margaret, Henry T., Catherine A.
