He was buried in 75 rds n. of Caldwell home (Wager's farm in 1965). He was the son of 2. Alexander CALDWELL and 3. Mary CAULDWELL. He married Mary STEPHENSON 7 DEC 1773 in York Co., Pennsylvania. She was born 1750 in York or Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania, and died 26 AUG 1824 in Nicholas Co., Kentucky. She was buried in Old Shiloh Chuchyard, Nicholas Co., Kentucky.

      1. iii. Robert CALDWELL was born 15 AUG 1747 in near Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, and died 26 JUL 1836 in Caldwell, Callaway Co., Missouri. He married Mary STEPHENSON 7 DEC 1773 in York Co., Pennsylvania. She was born 1750 in York or Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania, and died 26 AUG 1824 in Nicholas Co., Kentucky.
      iv. Alexander Caldwell , Jr. was born 22 JUN 1752 in Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania, and died 31 MAY 1821 in Nicholas Co., Kentucky. He married Elizabeth Stephenson ABT 1775 in Westmoreland Co., Pennsylvania, daughter of Mr. Stephenson. She was born 2 MAR 1761 in York Co., Pennsylvania, and died 5 MAY 1848 in Nicholas Co., Kentucky.

      iii. Oliver Caldwell. He married Anne Caldwell, daughter of John Caldwell.

      The following is from the Pioneer Families of Missouri book written in 1876, which is not always accurate:
      CALDWELL, Robert Caldwell, of Scotland, was married in South Wales, emigrated to America and settled in Pennsylvania, where he had a son, Robert, Jr., who married MARY STEPHENSON, and settled in Bourbon Co., KY. His children were James, Robert, William, John, Alexander, Thomas and Patsey. Thomas married ELEANOR BOYD, and settled in Callaway Co. in 1826. He established the pottery works there, now known as Pottersville. His children were Robert, Thomas, Jr., James, John, Newton and Grizella. Robert, brother of Thomas Caldwell, Sr., married ANNA AVERY, and settled in Callaway Co. in 1844.
