    Debo Funeral Home Obituary
    • Pauline Bush Howison, 89, of Fulton, died Monday, March 24, 2008 at her home.

She was born June 28, 1918, in Callaway County, the daughter of the late Allen K. and Iva Jane (Jones) Bush. On Dec. 23, 1939, she married Ralph Rusk Howison in Warrenton, MO. He preceded her in death on Feb. 16, 1998.

She is survived by one sister, Jane Bush Guerrant and her husband Gordon of Thomasville, GA; four nieces, Mary Jane Love Schultz and her husband John of Fulton, Libby Guerrant Resler and her husband Kent of Marietta GA, Lori Guerrant Jones and her husband Tom of Thomasville, GA, and Lyn Bush Guerrant of Lawrenceville, GA; and three nephews, Kenneth Dale Love of Olathe, KS, William D. Dutton and his wife Kay of Columbia, MO, and James Allen Dutton of Norway, IA.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, three sisters Mildred Jones Bush Bullard, Anna Elizabeth Bush Love, and Edna Bush Dutton, and two nieces, Joyce Love Collins and Leslie Guerrant Fowler.

Pauline's entire career was with the Dept Of Agriculture where she was involved with the farmers of Callaway County. She had a lifetime interest in business affairs and was a gifted manager of her resources. She and her husband Ralph spent their 59 years of marriage on the same farm west of Carrington. They were dedicated custodians of the land and were active in managing the grazing rights of the government land surrounding their farm.

She was a member of Boydsville Christian Church and took over the trusteeship of the Boydsville cemetery which she maintained until two years ago.

Although they had no children, the neighboring boys served many happy hours in apprenticeship under their direction. Their home was a welcoming spot for nieces and nephews to visit, to feed the baby lambs and calves, and count the kittens. "Aunt Polly" was a fabulous cook and always had some kind of dessert available in the kitchen.

Funeral services will be held at 3:00 p.m., Sunday, March 30, at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Rev. Steve Nelson officiating. Burial will follow in Boydsville cemetery. Family will receive friends on Sunday afternoon from 2:00 p.m. until time of service at the funeral home.

Memorials are suggested to the First Christian Church
