- CLAUDE TATE DIES AT CALLAWAY HOSPITAL
Williamsburg Man Had Suffered A Stroke early Friday Morning At Home
Claude Tate of Williamsburg, died at 11 o'clock Friday night in the Callaway Hospital. Mr. Tate was about 72 years old.
Mr. Tate was found lying on the floor of his home at Williamsburg about 10 a.m. Friday, by neighbors, and it is believed that he suffered a stroke. He had notified Mrs. E. O. Coil that he would bring his laundry to her home early Friday morning, and when he did not appear, Mrs. Coil and a neighbor, Mrs. John Lewis Weeks went to the Tate home, where he lived alone, and found him lying on the floor.
Mr. Tate, son of the late Mr. and Mrs. Newton Tate, was born in the Williamsburg community and until a few years ago he operated a farm. He was never married, and is survived by one brother, Lloyd Tate, who is employed by the State Highway Department at Kirkwood.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Sunday, but the place of the funeral had not been decided Saturday morning.
