- Dies at 94
Mrs. Margaret Ann Hamilton Langtry, 94, one of the oldest residents in this section of Missouri, died at her home in Fulton this week. She had been ill for a long time and confined to her bed for 16 months. Funeral services were conducted at the Old Auxvasse Presbyterian church, near Calwood, where Mrs. Langtry had been a member since girlhood, and burial was in the Old Auxvasse cemetery.
Mrs. Langtry was the daughter of John and Agnes Hamilton who came to Callaway county 99 years ago. They settled in the Bachelor community, in northeast Callaway, and Mrs. Langtry was born there. She was educated at the Robinson Seminary in Fulton, one of the foremost early-day schools for girls, and later taught in Callaway schools for several years. She was married in 1897 to Hillery Langtry, who survives. He is 91 years old. Mr. and Mrs. Langtry moved to Fulton form the county in 1902 and have since been among the best known residents of the county seat.
