      Billy Dale Millard, 83, of Auxvasse, Missouri, passed away Monday, November 23, 2009, at the VA Hospital. He was born in Hannibal, Missouri on Dec. 28, 1925, a son of the late Clarence and Ethel Smart Millard. On May 28, 1947, he was united in marriage to Marie Benskin, who preceded him in death.
      He will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three sons, Gary Mllard of Auxvasse, Missouri, Robert (Bob) Millard and his wife, Jeannie, of Mexico, Missouri, and Steven James Millard and his wife, Jeanie, of Columbia, Missouri; one daughter, Susan Johnston and her husband Joe, of Fulton, Missouri; one sister, JoAnn Nelson and her husband Gordon, of Auxvasse, Missour; five grandchildren, Rob Millard and his wife Joy, of Columbia, Missouri, Heather Patten and her husband, Ira, of Fulton, Missouri, Erica Keeler and her husband, Sean, of Centralia, Missouri, Ashley Millard and Josh Millard of Columbia, Missouri; six great grandchildren: other relatives and many dear friends. He was preceded in death by his parents and wife.
      Billy was a mail carrier for the United States Postal Service. He was a member of the Auxvasse Christian Church. He enjoyed coon hunting, playing guitars, and he loved country music. He was an avid St. Louis Cardinals fan.
      Funeral services will be 2:00 p.m. Wednesday, November 25, 2009, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri with Rev. Alan Bailey officiating. Visitation will be from 1:00 p.m. on Wednesday until the time of service. Internment will be at the Auxvasse Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Harry S. Truman Memorial Veterans Hospital.
