- Mrs. J.H. Tureman Dead.
Mrs. Margaret Ann Tureman, aged 73 years, widow of James H. Tureman, died at her home in West Seventh street, this city, Wednesday noon, after an illness that lasted about a year. Her death had been expected for a week.
Funeral services will be conducted at the home this afternoon at 2:00 o'clock by her pastor, Rev. W.W. Stoddart. Burial will be in the new cemetery.
Mrs. Tureman was a daughter of Joseph Everheart, a pioneer citizen of east Callaway, and she was born at Williamsburg on November 14, 1835. She was married to James H. Tureman on June 23, 1854, Bishop E.M. Marvin of the Methodist church officiating. After their marriage, Mr. and Mrs. Tureman lived at Williamsburg until 1873 when they moved to Fulton, where Mr. Tureman engaged in the grocery business. Mr. Tureman died in October 1903.
Three sisters, one brother, and three children mourn the death of Mrs. Tureman. The sisters are Mrs. William Martin, Williamsburg; Mrs. James Woodlam, Fort Worth, Tex., and Mrs. James Porter, Dallas, Tex. The children are Joseph H. Tureman, St. Louis, and William T. Tureman and Mrs. E.H. Marquess, Fulton. W.B. Everheart of Fulton is the brother.
Mrs. Tureman united with the Methodist church in early life but changed her membership to the Presbyterian church with her husband at the time of the great Campbell meeting in Fulton, about thirty years ago. She was a consecrated Christian, a splendid mother and a good neighbor. Her life was simple and singularly free from affection. Her virtues were many and the world is better for the years she spent in it.
