    • William C. Beaven Dead
William C. Beaven died last Sunday morning at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Emmett Sparks, northwest of Mokane, after a brief illness with appendicitis, and was buried at the United Brethren churchyard, south of Fulton, on Monday, after funeral services conducted by Rev. W.A. Fite, pastor of the Fulton Christian church, assisted by Revend Purvis, of the United Brethren church.
The deceased was following his trade of carpenter when taken ill at the Sparks home, Saturday, and the death summons came while he was yet in the agony of the ailment, skilled medical assistance and tender nursing failing to alleviate his suffering.
He was 44 years of age and is survived by his wife and four little daughter, Oleta, Mary, Wilma, and Bessie, besides his mother, Mrs. F.I. Beaven, of Hams Prairie, three sisters, Mrs. Mattie Pinet and Mrs. Edna Harris, of Tebbetts neighborhood, and Mrs. Lou Stewart, of Jefferson City; also by three brothers, Judge S.P. Beaven, of Fulton, and Theodore and Carl Beaven, of Ham's Prairie.
He was a man of few words, quiet and inobtrusive in manner, but of forceful character and uncompromising honesty. In his work as a builder of barns over the county he was recognized not only as a skilled carpenter, but as one whose plans were always carefully considered and thoroughly matured, and he always did better than he promised. His uprightness and manliness bound friends to him with hoops of steel and few men are more universally esteemed than he was. The large gathering at the graveside to pay him the last respects, on Sunday, is a heritage his wife and little girls will cherish in the years to come, for it was a sincere tribute to his worth. The sorrowing ones have the sympathy of all.
