    • He was left off the 1880 census.
      I am sure he was their son because in 1920, he was mentioned in his step-mother's obituary:
      Two step-sons also are living, they being Ivan, a hotel man living at Moberly, and Burnham, of Montana.
      and, his death certificate names his parents.

      He was a hotel keeper, Americanna Hotel in Moberly, Missouri, at the time of his death. His wife's name was Mary, she gave the information for his death certificate.
