Notes	Dorothy Wells was born in Louisiana, Missouri, October 11, 1913, the only child of John George and Myrtle Carmen Chappell Wells, born in Cincinnati, OH, 1880, and Louisiana, Missouri, 1889, respectively. Dorothy married George H. Canada of Mexico, Missouri, in 1933 and they were divorced in 1942. They had one child. Dorothy's parents moved to Fulton from Louisiana in 1923, and after graduating from Fulton High School in 1931, she attended Gem City Business College in Quincy, Illinois. From 1934 she worked for two dermatologists in St. Louis for five years, returned to Fulton in 1940, and has been secretary to the president of Westminster College, working for five presidents during those years. She was a member of Omicron Delta kappa and the Presbyterian Church.
