- Kathleen Kelly Foster Neukomm, 92, of Quincy, Illinois, formerly of Fulton, Missouri passed away Saturday, January 19, 2008. She was born May 3, 1915 in Linn Creek, Missouri a daughter of Claude E. and Lessie Pritchett (Traw) Foster. On February 20, 1937 she was united in marriage to Thomas Jacob Neukomm who preceded her in death.
She will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by three daughters, Mildred K. Cory of Quincy, Illinois, Elizabeth A. Blackwell of Osage Beach, Missouri, and Jane F. McCollum of Albuquerque, New Mexico; nine grandchildren, Fred Neukomm Cory of Quincy, Illinois, Paul R. Cory of the state of Georgia, Stuart T. Cory of the state of Ohio, David B. Cory of Quincy, Illinois, Nicholas A. Cory of Quincy, Illinois, Chris C. Pantaenius of Kansas City, Missouri, Kathleen C. Pantaenius Jeffries of Millersburg, Missouri, Kelly L. McCollum of the state of New Mexico, and Thomas J. McCollum of the state of New Mexico; other relatives and many dear friends.
Kathleen was a teacher and homemaker. She was a member of the First Christian Church of Richland, Missouri, First Presbyterian Church of Fulton, Missouri. A graduate of William Woods University, she was an initiated alumna of Alpha Chi Omega Social Sorority, Delta Chi Chapter. She was a recipient of the William Woods Green Owl Award, fifty-year member of PEO Sisterhood, member of the Daughters of the American Revolution, board member of the Winston Churchill Memorial and Library, and longtime member of several bridge clubs. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother who loved and promoted education. She contributed to many college scholarships. She considered her home and family a priority. A strong believer in God, country, and friendship. Kathleen's love for music and books brought joy to her family and surroundings. She enjoyed playing the piano, attending musicals, and traveling. Kathleen was a great cook who enjoyed family dinners. In her youth she won many contests in piano, oratory, and typing.
Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 23, 2008 at Fulton Presbyterian Church in Fulton, Missouri with Rev. Jennifer Turick officiating. Interment will be at Hillcrest Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the William Woods University or the Fulton Presbyterian Church, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Blvd., Fulton, Missouri 65251.
