    • From A History of Callaway County Missouri, 1884 book, which is not always accurate:
      His present wife, formerly Miss Martha Hockaday, is the youngest daughter of Judge I.O. Hockaday, of this county. They were married May 1, 1873... one child, a son William Irvine. The Doctor and wife are both members of the Presbyterian church.
