Notes	Excerpt from A History of Callaway County Missouri, 1884 book, which is not always accurate: Judge W.H. Wilkerson, dealer in hardware, agricultural implements, etc... son of Hon. William Wilkerson and wife... born in Montgomery county, Kentucky, December 19, 1827.. three years of age when the family removed to Callaway county.. teaching in Callaway county until 1840... went to seek his fortune on the Pacific coast... in 1852 returned to the old Kingdom of Callaway and resumed teaching. Two years afterwards on the 13th of April, 1854, he was married to Miss Sarah A. Moore, of this county, duaghter of Byrd Moore, Esq., who came from Virginia in 1834. Her mother's maiden name was Ann Green, of the well-known Green family of the Old Dominion. Mr. Wilkerson continued teaching after his marriage for a number of years and has taught in all some fifteen years but finally turned his attention to farming, and applied himself to tis occupation with great industry and energy for about ten years... In 1867, haing in the meantime accumulated considerable property, he engaged in his present line of business at Fulton, having a partner at the time; but in 1870 he bought out his partner's interest an has since conducted the business alone... held the office of justice of the peace for about twelve years. In 1871 he was appointed a judge of the county court, and the same year was elected to the same position, an office he filled for abour six years. He was a member of the board of managers of the State Insane Asylum for eight years... The judge and wife have a family of five children: Anna E., Sallie W., Clarence P., Oscar C., and Claud F.
