- William R. Carter Dead
William R. Carter, 55 years old, died at his home in this city, Wednesday night at 10:00 o'clock after a complicated illness lasting about a year. Burial will take place at the Fulton new cemetery, Saturday morning at 10:00 o'clock after funer services at the Catholic church, conducted by Rev. Fr. J. Gilifiliam, of Jefferson City.
He is survived by his wife and one son, W.R. Carter Jr., besides four sisters and one brother; Mrs. Mary Calvert, of Boone county; Mrs. Ellen Grogan, of St. Louis; Mrs. Nannie Powell, of Clipper Mills, Cal.; Miss Bettie Carter and John Carter, of Fulton. He was a son of the late Mr. and Mrs. J.G. Carter, and was born on a farm a mile northwest of town.
Congenial of disposition and of kindly nature, he enjoyed friends, loved his family, and found pleasure in life. He was big-hearted and companionable and because of his death many beside those who were near to him will mourn and regret his sad taking away. The sorrowing ones have the sympathy of all.
