    • MRS. ALICE MONCRIEF DIES TUESDAY NIGHT
      Mrs. Alice Rebecca Moncrief, former resident of this community, passed away about midnight on Tuesday at the University Medical Center in Columbia, where she had been a patient since Sunday. She had not been in the best of health for the last three years and had been quite ill for more than a year.
      Funeral services will be held Friday afternoon and burial will be in the Mokane Cemetery.
      Mrs. Moncrief was born on Sept. 8, 1875 in Macon County, a daughter of Richard and Elizabeth (Davis) Snow. On Nov. 3, 1895, she was married to John Wesley Saling, who died on June 28, 1932. To this union five children were born, Finis Saling and Mrs. R.B. (Veta) Dickson of Fulton, Mrs. Lyle (Viola) Ancell of La Plata, Warner Saling of Portland, and Cecil Saling of Mokane, all of whom survive.
      Later in life she was married to Joseph Elijah Moncrief and then to Doctor Norman Moncrief, who preceded her in death.
      Deceased is also survived by three brothers, William Snow of Columbia, Orville Snow of La Plata, and Edgar Snow of Mexico. Twelve grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren also mourn her passing. One brother and four sisters preceded her in death.
