- Miss Abbie Day Dies At Ashland; Rites Set Tuesday
Miss Abbie Jane Day, 70, died at the home of W.E. Hinshaw, Route 1, Ashland, at about midnight Saturday.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday afternoon at 2 p.m. at the Church of God Holiness in Fulton, with the Rev. Mrs. Fay Day officiating. Internment will be in the Mt. Carmel Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Everett Salmons, J.C. Salmons, Elmer Salmons, Cecil Day, Robert Salmons and Leo Salmons.
The body will lie in state at the Wallace Funeral Home until time for the services.
Miss Day was born September 25, 1890, in Callaway County, near Calwood, the daughter of Truman and Clara Polacek Day.
She was united with the Baptist church at Carrington in 1908.
She had been in ill health the last five years and had made her home with the Hinshaws since last November.
One sister, Mrs. Hattie Salmons of Fulton, and a brother, Emuel Day of Portland survive. Three sisters and seven brothers preceded her in death.
