    • Martha J. Dunavant, 82, of Fulton, Missouri passed to our heavenly home Wednesday, June 11, 2008 at University of Missouri Hospital in Columbia. She was born January 4, 1926 in Bluffton, Missouri to the late George and Emma (Becker) Malicoat. On December 23, 1949 she was united in marriage to Ralph Dunavant who survives at their home.
      In addition to her husband of fifty-eight years, she will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by one son, Jeff Dunavant and his wife Michelle of Fulton, Missouri; three daughters, Jan Dunavant, Jill Dunavant, and Joy Doughty and her husband Jerry all of Fulton, Missouri; one brother, Guy Malicoat of Rhineland, Missouri; one sister, Helen Hoover of Fulton, Missouri; one grandchild, Luke Doughty; one step-grandson, Zachary Dunavant; other relatives and many dear friends. Her parents, one infant son, Timothy and five sisters preceded her in death.
      Martha was a homemaker. She was a member of the Southside Baptist Church in Fulton and taught the three-year-old Sunday school class at the church for forty years. She was an avid vegetable gardener, she spent many hours in the tomato patch.
      Funeral services will be 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 13, 2008 at Southside Baptist Church in Fulton, Missouri with Rev. Ron Baker officiating. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 12, 2008 at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton, Missouri. Interment will be held at Callaway Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be made to the Southside Baptist Church Building Fund, c/o Maupin Funeral Home, 301 Douglas Boulevard, Fulton, Missouri 65251.
