Dr. Edgar Wilkes
Funeral serives will be held at 11 o'clock Wednesday morning, at the Auxvasse Funeral Home in Auxvasse, for Dr. Edgar Wilkes, who died Sunday in Fond du Lac, Wis. Internment will be in the Auxvasse Cemetery and services will be conducted by the Rev. Roy Furkin.
Dr. Wilkes was born December 23, 1888, in Roanoke, Va., and he was married June 21, 1916, to Miss Elizabeth Kenecht of Rensselarer, Mo.
He was executive director of the Union Leage Boys' Club in Chicago for 40 years. Dr. Wilkes was a graduate of Westminster College and McCormick Theological Seminary in Chicago. He was a member of the Auxvasse Presbyterian Church.
He is survived by his wife and two sons, Dr. John Wilkes of New York City and Thomas Wilkes of Sioux Falls, S.D.; one daughter, Mrs. Joe (Nancy) Dorst of Fond du Lac; three sisters, Mrs. Harvey Gilpin of Fulton, Mrs. T.L. McGuire of Auxvasse and Miss Ollie Wilkes of Auxvasse; and one brother, Oscar Wilkes of Auxvasse. He was preceded in death by one brother.

		Dr. Edgar Thomas Wilkes Edgar Thomas Wilkes, Dec. 23, 1888 - Dec. 11, 1966. Dr. Edgar Thomas Wilkes was a son of John William Wilkes and Elizabeth Frances Whitworth. He was my 1st cousin twice removed. He married Elizabeth Kenecht.

Notes	Dr. Edgar Thomas Wilkes was an ordained Presbyterian minister who worked with children most of his adult life and received much recognition for this work. He was the Managing Director of the Union League Foundation for Boys Clubs of Chicago for many years. Upon his retirement he returned to Callaway Co, where he resided till his death. January 12, 1944- Edgar T. Wilkes of Chicago, will be the guest of honor at the 39th annual Kingdom of Callaway Supper, to be held next Tuesday evening, according to the announcement today of William S. Armstrong, president of the supper. Mr. Wilkes is managing director of the Union League Club of Chicago, which numbers amoung its members many of the most prominent men of that city.
