    • ROBINSON, Ill. - Iris Nadine Herring, 72, died at 6:38 a.m. Monday at Crawford Memorial Hospital.
      She was a billing clerk for the Robinson-Palestine Water Commission and owned and operated The Basement Stamp Shop.
      She was a member of First United Methodist Church and a former member of the Robinson Minerva Club. She received an Associate degree in Applied Science from Williams Woods College in Fulton, Mo., in 1943.
      Surviving are a daughter, Mary Hubbard of Illinois; a son, John of Colorado; her stepmother, Tina Taylor of Fulton, Missouri; a brother, Rex O. Carrington of Afton, Missouri; six grandchildren, Jon Jason, Joshua David and Sara Jane Hubbard and Deanna L., Jennifer L. and Heather M. Herring; and one great- grandchild.
      Her husband, David Wilson Herring, died in 1981.
      Arrangements are pending at Pulliam Funeral Homes.

    • Iris Nadine Herring
      Iris Nadine Herring, 72, Robinson, died Monday, Sept. 4, at Crawford Memorial Hospital.
      Funeral service is at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, Sept. 7, at Pulliam Funral Home with Rev. Jim Barnett officiating. Burial is in the Robinson Old Cemetery.
      Born Feb. 14, 1923, in Auxvasse, Mo., she was the daughter of "Carson" Jack and Mary Wilks Carrington. She was a billing clerk at the Robinson-Palestine Water Commission and owned and operated the Basement Stamp Shop until her death.
      She was a member of the Robinson First United Methodist Church and a former member of Robinson Minerva Club. She was a 1941 graduate of Fulton High School and received an AAS from William Woods College, Fulton, Mo.
      On Dec. 23, 1945, she married David W. Herring and he preceeded her in death Oct. 27, 1981.
      Surviving are a son, John, Aurora, Co; a daughter, Mary (Mrs. Glenn) Hubbard, Carpentersville; a brother, Rex Carrington, Afton, Mo; her stepmother, Tina Taylor, Fulton, Mo; six grandchildren; a great grandchild, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins.

    • She was born at her Aunt Bessie Wilks Owen's home in Auxvasse. Her parents lived in Fulton at that time, but her mother went to Aunt Bessie's house to stay while she had the baby.

      Graduated in the Class of 1941 of Fulton High School. Participated in the Glee Club, Drum and Bugle, Band, and the Senior student play. Comment in the high school newspaper was.. and does she rate! She graduated from William Woods College in Fulton Missouri.

      In the early 1960's, she went to work in the billing dept. of the Robinson Water Co., and worked there until her death in 1995.

      She was a member of the First United Methodist Church of Robinson. She was a member of the Robinson Minerva Club, had been a den leader for the cub scouts in the 1950's, and worked with the Camp Fire Girls for several years. She served on various committees and groups in the church.
