Children of Dabney Carver Herring and Mary Francis Simco, all were my 1st cousins 3 times removed.
They were all grandchildren of Reuben Brooks Simco and Sarah Cowherd Hill, and, John Herring and Lucy Carver.  Seated from left are Lucy Herring Henderson (born 1862, married J. Henderson), William Thomas Herring (born 1860, married Annie Meloy), Louellen Herring Roberts (born 1857, married Wesley G. Roberts), (standing) Charles Guy Herring (born 1880, married Katheryn Randolph), Ira Brooks Herring (born 1872, married Maude Hook), Emma Herring Mirts (born 1869, married John Mirts), Sarah Herring Jatho (born 1866, married Henry Jatho), and Mary Herring Hyten (born 1864, married Hiram Hyten). Reuben B. Simco was also the brother of my great great grandmothers, Lucy Simco Herring and Judith Simce Fletcher. Dabney Herring was my 3 times great Uncle, his wife Mary Francis was my 1st cousin 3 times removed. |
