Jefferson City News-Tribune, March 6, 2005, Harold Dean Purvis, 80, of Fulton, died Saturday, March 5, 2005, at Harry S. Truman Veterans Hospital in Columbia. He was born November 18, 1924 in Callaway County, the son of Lee Roy and Bertha (Carrington) Purvis. Mr. Purvis had worked as a carpenter during his life. He served in the U.S. Army from August 1945 to January 1947. He is survived by two sons, Doug Purvis of Montgomery City, and Marvin Purvis of Oklahoma state; one daughter, Carolyn Meyer of New Glarus Wisconsin; four grandchildren, Meredith, Lincoln, and Rosalee Purvis, and Kerstin Meyer. He was preceded in death by twin brothers, Ray and Roy; and one grandson, Ryan Jackson. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday, March 8, 2005, at 2 p.m. with Rev. Paul Lehman officiating. Burial will be in the Otterbein Cemetery with Military Honors. Visitation will be Monday evening from 5-8 p.m. in the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society or the American Diabetes Association. |
