Obit - Mrs. Dabney Herring Dead

Native of Callaway County, Passed Away Sunday Evening at Age of 64 Years.

Mrs. Lucy Emma Herring, wife of Willis Dabney Herring, passed away at 8:45 p.m. Sunday evening at the home six miles south of Fulton from cerebral hemorrhage following a short illness of several days. She was 64 years of age.

Mrs. Herring was a daughter of the late Peter and Nancy Giboney. She was born December 6, 1863 in the same neighborhood where she spent practically all of her life. she was married on June 9, 1881 to Willis Dabney Herring, who survives her. To this union, eight children were born, six of them dying in infancy.

She leaves, in addition to her husband, two children; Roy L. Herring and Obie Herring, both of Fulton, to mourn her passing. She also is survived by two sisters, Mrs. W.B. Carthright of Fulton and Mrs. Sallie Bice of Jefferson City, in addition to seven grandchildren and other relatives. She was a member of the Ham's Prairie Christian church.

Funeral services will be conducted at the home at 2:00 o'clock Tuesday afternoon and burial will be in the family cemetery.
