John George Fletcher, 72, of Mokane died Saturday, August 30, 2003 at Riverview Nursing Center in Mokane. He was born August 23, 1931 in Jefferson City, a son of Cecil Martin and Golden Fay Larrimore Fletcher. He attended schools in Jefferson City and Fulton.
He was a self-employed construction worker most of his life, and was a custodian for the Missouri Army National Guard for eight years until his retirement on April 30, 1987. He was a member of Spring Valley Baptist Church near Henley.
He is survived by one son, Bobby Joe Fletcher of Auxvasse; three brothers: Harry Fletcher of Holland, Indiana; Billy Joe Fletcher of Columbia; Earl Bruce Fletcher of the state of California; three sisters: Opal Spencer of Fulton; Viola Wilson of Calwood; Esther Longcry of Fulton; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one sister, Elva McIntire, and one brother, Charlie Ray Fletcher.
Friends will be received from 12:00 to 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors -- Jefferson City Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Tuesday at the HOUSER-MILLARD Funeral Directors -- Jefferson City Chapel with Rev. Cellis A. Crum officiating. Interment will follow in the Lane Cemetery near Linn. Expressions of sympathy may be made to the Spring Valley Baptist Church.
