Columbia Daily Tribune, April 28, 1998, Joseph Woodrow "Woody" Calvin, 85, of Fulton died Sunday, April 26, 1998, at Fulton Community Care. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, April 30, at Maupin Funeral Home in Fulton with the Rev. E.G. Garrett officiating. Burial will be in Hillcrest Cemetery. Visitation will be from 6 to 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 29, at the funeral home. Mr. Calvin was born March 5, 1913, in Reform to Richard and Dora Ross Calvin. He married Julia Maddox on July 3, 1936, in Paris, Mo., and she survives. He was retired from employment as a pressman at Ovid Bell Press in Fulton. He was also an electrician and a farmer. He attended Church of God Holiness and Heartland Church of the Nazarene and served with Gideon International. Survivors also include two sons, Ronald Calvin of Lake Ozark and David Calvin of Jefferson City; a daughter, Cheryl Calvin Niemann of Austin, Texas; a twin sister, Janie Moore of Fulton; a brother, Richard Calvin of Salem; five grandchildren; and a great-grandchild. He was preceded in death by seven brothers and sisters. |
