Jefferson City News-Tribune, January 22, 2004, Henry Elwood Backer, age 76, of Fulton, died Tuesday, January 20, 2004 at his home. He was born February 27, 1927, to the late Thomas Harrison and Artie Marie (Pugh) Backer. On Dec. 20, 1952, he married Alice Marie Wetherell. She survives at the home. Other survivors include one son: David Elwood Backer of Fulton; two daughters: Catherine Marie Register of North Carolina, and Elaine Sue Smith of Kingdom City. Services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Friday, January 23, at the Debo Funeral Home in Fulton with Dr. Ron Baker officiating. Burial will follow in Callaway Memorial Gardens. |
