Nancy Herring was a daughter of John and Lucy Carver Herring. She was born May 25, 1834 in Albemarle Co. Virginia. She had 10 brothers and 1 sister, and was my 2nd great grandaunt.
Nancy came from Albemarle Virginia with her family when she was 4 years old. On December 6, 1860 in Callaway Co., Missouri, she married Peter M. Giboney. I have found various spellings of the last name including, Gibony, Giboney, and Gibney. Peter was born about 1834 in Callaway County Missouri, a son of John W. Giboney of Kentucky.
Peter Giboney was a Civil War Veteran, on the side of the Union Army. He was inducted on
Dec. 10, 1863, and discharged on March 18, 1864 because of a disability.

Peter M. Gibony died Aug 4, 1894. I have not found where he was buried, but probably at Hams Prairie Christian Cemetery.
Nancy Herring Gibony died Feb 15, 1901.
Callaway Weekly Gazette Obituary:
Mrs. Nancy Giboney, aged 65 years, died at her home near Pitcher, Callaway county, February 15. Consumption was the cause of her death. The body was buried at Hams Prairie on the following day.
