Nancy Herring was my 3rd great grandaunt. She was born in 1806 in Albemarle Co. Virginia, a daughter of Benjamin Herring and Nancy Hill.

Nancy Herring married Isaac D. Crosthwait 1 Jan 1827; minister, John Goss; bondsman, Thomas Tatrum; witness, Ira Garrett; daughter of Benjamin Herring, who gives his consent; witness, Stephen M. Faris and John Elliott.
Isaac D. Crosthwait was born about 1807 or before in Virginia. He was a son of Isaac T. Crosthwait. Isaac was married previously, Sept 22, 1823 in Albemarle Co., Virginia, to Mary T. Rippeto, Albemarle Co. Virginia. Mary Rippeto died before 1827 in Virginia.

Sudden Death - It is our painful duty this week to chronicle the sudden death of Miss Lucy E. Magorian, who died at her father's residence in this city, on Tuesday. -- She was in her nineteenth year --. She was buried in the new cemetery. -- Her oldest brother, Edwin, is in Kansas and her only sister, Miss Mollie, was in Macon City.

Isaac D. Crosthwait died before 1840, there is a paper in John B. Herring's probate packet listing John B. as admin. of Isaac's estate. Since John B. died in 1841, Isaac had to have died at least a year before that.
Nancy Herring Crosthwait was named attorney for her sister and brother in law, Sarah Elizabeth Herring and William Jordan Payne, who still lived in Virginia, in 1842 to represent their interests in the final settlement of Benjamin Herring's probate packet.
