John M. Simco was the ninth child of James Simco and Francis Canada. John Simco was my 2nd great grand-uncle. He was born June 29, 1820 in Albemarle Co. Virginia.
On November 15, 1842 he married Mary F. Fletcher in Callaway Co., Missouri. Mary Fletcher was born about 1825 in Callaway Co. Missouri. She was my 2nd great grand-aunt. Mary was a sister of my third great grandfather, John F. Fletcher. He married Judith Simco, sister of John M. Simco. Mary was a daughter of John and Mary Fletcher of Virginia.
John Simco and Mary Fletcher had one child:
- William Simco, b: abt. 1847, Callaway Co. Missouri d: abt. 1917.
- Married Harriett J. unknown, b: abt. 1850, Callaway Co., Missouri.

- Carrie Simco, b: abt. 1871, Callaway Co., Missouri. Carrie lived with her grandfather, John M. Simco.
Mary Fletcher Simco died in May of 1847 in Callaway Co., Missouri. I do not know where she was buried.
John Simco next married Frances Eliabeth Smith on October 15, 1852 in Callaway Co., Missouri. She was born Nov. 3, 1825, in Orange Co., Virginia, a daughter of Tartan Smith and Lucy Mallory.
John Simco and Frances E. Smith had five children:

- married December 25, 1883, Callaway Co., Missouri, Alfred D. Hook, b: abt. 1855, Callaway Co., Missouri. He was a son of William Henry Hook and Medline Turner, originally of Kentucky.

- Hubert S. Hook, b: Sept. 1, 1895, Callaway Co. Missouri, d: Apr. 10, 1984, Contra Costa, California.
- James Edward Simco b: June 28, 1857, Callaway Co. Missouri d: Mar. 9, 1931, Callaway Co. Missouri.
- married 8 Sept 1891, Callaway Co., Missouri Emma Jane Herring, b: Sept. 2, 1858, Callaway Co. Missouri d: Mar. 5, 1943, Mexico, Audrain Co., Missouri. She was a daughter of James Clark Herring and Sarah Jane Knight. They were both my 1st cousins 3 times removed. James and Emma Herring Simco are buried in Hillcrest Cemetery, Fulton, Callaway Co. Missouri.

SIMCOE - At the residence of Mrs. Joseph Murphy, Columbia, MO, Sunday morning, October 16, 1881, after fourteen days illness of typhoid fever. Robert Elliot Simcoe, son of J. M. Simcoe of Callaway County, aged about 20 years. Short services were held at 11 o'clock Sunday morning at Mrs. Murphy's by Rev. Dr. Dodge of the Baptist Church. His remains were taken to Callaway Sunday afternoon and were interred at Richland Baptist church on Monday. He had just entered the University for the first time and was a remarkably bright, moral and studious young man.

Frances Elizabeth Smith Simco died Aug. 23, 1875 in Callaway Co., Missouri after an accident with a horse. She is buried in Richland Baptist Church cemetery, Callaway Co., Missouri.

Sad Accident
We regret to learn that Mrs. Fannie Simcoe, wife of Mr. John M. Simcoe, of this vicinity, while on her way to church one evening last week in passing near a ditch, her horse stumbled and fell - the horse falling on her, from the effects of which she has since died.
Mrs. Simcoe was a daughter of the late Tartan Smith and sister of Mrs. W. T. Craig. We deeply sympathise with Mr. Simcoe in his sad bereavement.
John Simco next married Cynthia Ann Sacre on Sept. 12, 1878, in Callaway Co., Missouri. She was born July 24, 1838 in Kentucky, a daughter of George Sacre and Mary Jane Wilmon.
John M. Simco died November 30, 1903, in Callaway Co., Missouri. He is buried at Richland Batist Church cemetery, Callaway Co., Missouri. Cynthia Ann Sacre Simco died January 25, 1913 in Fulton, Callaway Co., Missouri and is also buried at Richland Batist Church cemetery, Callaway Co., Missouri.
